Prionics AG, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is a leading provider of farm animal diagnostics and a recognized center of expertise in BSE and prion diseases. Founded in 1997, Prionics researches and markets innovative diagnostic solutions for major farm animal diseases, contributing significantly to the protection of consumer health.
In 2008, Prionics has broadened its sampling device range through the acquisition of the forensiX product line. This acquisition enhances Prionics’ product range for degradation-sensitive probes to include DNA samples.
The forensiX product line was first developed by swissforensiX AG, a spin off of the Institute for Forensic Medicine of the University of Berne.
Prionics to deliver evidence collection kits to the French Ministry of the Interior
Prionics has secured a tender for DNA evidence collection kits in France. The tender encompasses the nationwide delivery of forensiX tubes to the Gendarmerie Nationale and the Police Nationale for the collection of evidence at crime scenes in France.
